Hello! I’m Veronica

Welcome to A Simple Country Home!

I’m a mother of three adult children and grandmother of two little ones. Yes, I’m a grandma and I’m LOVING it!

We live in a country home in the Midwest United States where I get to experience all four seasons with a few hunting seasons sprinkled in there throughout the year. Our meals, chores, and everything in between changes with all the seasons.

A Simple Country Home is about homemaking and country living. You’ll find ideas and inspiration on home decor, recipes for homemade meals using basic ingredients, keeping a natural home, and tips on getting back to the basics to create a simple life. Throughout my blog you’ll see me using wooden bowls, cotton linens, stoneware dishes, a tea towel my late aunt embroidered, a hand crocheted afghan, and so on. When gift giving I’m most likely to give something I home canned, handmade, or home cooked.

We love to spend time on our back deck. Our property backs up to a nature preserve and oh my goodness do we enjoy seeing the wildlife come through. We have been transforming our home into a place we don’t need a vacation from, so turning our deck into an outdoor living space is key to that goal.
